The Dogs Need Jobs...

So I was thinking the other day, about working and retail jobs, when I decided that I needed a job where I could bring the dogs with me, or at least be around them a lot of the time. Or they would need to get jobs themselves! These boogers have been mooching off of me for how long? If only they could pull their own weight... Ok not really! But it got me thinking on what each dog's job would be if the had to grow up and go to work.

Icey would be the official chair and couch comfort tester. She would then write up her findings and pass it along to other dogs so that they could tell their owners which couch or chair to buy. She would also be a great food tester or foodie. She loves food and will eat just about everything. She would blog about her findings, and possibly open a restaurant, though she wouldn't cook, just eat!

Mick's job would be an alarm clock. He already has a strong knack for this, though its not when the alarm goes off, but when he thinks his person is almost awake. He then jumps up on the bed, licks, tramples and rolls around. I'm not sure what other jobs he could manage, but if cute were a job he's got that down pat!

Axle would be a toy tester in the retrieving and tugging division. He will retrieve until he drops and he can handle all kinds of extreme weather to test out the retrievability of each toy. But his best job would be in the tugging division. He might look slim and lean, but this boy has a powerful tug and an underbite that gives him an advantage of locking onto the toy. He has half destroyed most of the toys from his tugging ability. He'd help dog toy makers to come up with durable & retrievable toys, while being paid handsomely.

Bender would be in the toy tester business, though his job would be the durability tester, ie chewer! This boy has been gifted with the ability to rapidly chew through seemingly solid toys in barely a blink of the eye. Rope toys have been turned into hundreds of strands of floss held together by feeble knots, while lesser toys have be chewed and plucked apart as though they were made from thin cheap plastic. The toys that Axle had half destroyed have been fully destroyed by the chewing ability of this guy. Bender would help toy makers make the strongest dog toys on the market. He probably would have a quota of toys to test in a day, and could support the rest of us with the money he'd make!

But alas, there are no job openings in my area for my dogs' skill sets! So currently they are in lounge mode (like usual). Icey and Bender hogging the couch, Mick on the floor on a blanket and Axle quite possibly snugging with the bf in bed! Its a rough life!
